St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center
St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is a 233-bed acute care hospital that brings the best of medical technology, preventive services, and patient- and family-centered care to central Maine.
The hospital is home to a newly renovated and expanded Emergency Department and several specialized areas, including the Center for Joint Replacement, the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and the Center for Hyperbaric and Wound Care.
The newly expanded and renovated Emergency Department, an accredited Chest Pain Center, provides the highest level of care in one of the most private emergency environments in the state. The department boasts all private rooms large enough to accommodate a patient’s family members or loved ones. The expanded room size also allows for more information technology to be placed at the bedside. Additionally, medical emergency and behavioral treatment areas have been separated, allowing patients to get the treatment they need in a safe and comfortable environment, while maintaining their dignity.
Another recent addition to the hospital is St. Mary’s Center for Joint Replacement. It is the first center in Maine to focus solely on hip and knee replacement surgery and recovery. Former joint replacement patients played an integral role in designing the Center and planning the way we deliver care. All rooms are private and equipped with comfortable bedding for patients and their families, flat screen TVs, wireless Internet access, and furniture designed specifically for joint replacement patients. The Center also boasts a therapy gym complete with a training kitchen, restroom, stairs, curb, and bed so patients are better prepared when they return home.
