The Midcoast Symphony Orchestra “Magical Movie Music”
In our third series of the season the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Rohan Smith, presents “Magical Movie Music,” a program of movie music over the years. The program begins with music written for silent films by the famous silent film actor Charlie Chaplin. It continues with music from “The Adventures of Robin Hood”, “Casablanca” and “Gone With the Wind.” More recent scores include the suite for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and the “Star Wars” suite, both by John Williams. As an added feature the Youth Orchestra of Lewiston Auburn (YOLA) will perform during the intermission in Heritage Hall where refreshments will be available. This concert will be performed in the beautiful Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., in Lewiston, Saturday, March 16, at 7:00PM. Adult $20 – 18 and under and college students with ID are admitted free.
