Puppets and Poems Workshop

Description

Auburn Public Library is inviting teens and adults to join them and a guest artist for a five-week workshop this summer in honor of the book Ashley Bryan’s Puppets, by the Coretta Scott King Award-winning author, artist, illustrator, and Maine resident, Ashley Bryan. 

Using recycled and found materials, participants will bring to life puppet characters of their own design, then write unique poems based on their puppets. Workshops will be led by Maine College of Art & Design student Quinn J. Cotnoir. 

This event has been made possible by grant funds received from Maine Humanities Council. This program will take place in the Androscoggin Community Room at the Auburn Public Library for 6 weeks from 4:00 to 5:30 PM on Wednesdays from June 24th through July 22nd.
