This years Open House Art Exhibition will highlight the works of five unique and talented Maine artists.
Tony Brown: Tony Brown paints colorful “Idyllic Fantasies” in acrylics, on medium and large canvasses. He loves bright colors, detailed work, organic lines and shapes and beautifully developed images. Now retired, he lives in Lewiston and spends much of his
time painting.
Susan Fitz-Patrick: Susan was born in Maine and has a life-long passion for expressing herself in drawing, painting and quilting. She has studied painting at the University of Maine and at the Benton Center in Oregon. She has also studied under several artists developing techniques in oil, pastel, water color and acrylic painting. After years of living in seven different states and working in careers as a soft toy designer for Cabbage Patch Dolls and as a Marriage and Family Therapist, she has returned to Maine. She is now devoting much of her time expressing her love of the ocean in acrylic paintings of local lighthouses and seascapes.
Jenna Hackett: Jen began art as a hobby and it then progressed into a blossoming career. Passion to create is strong and always constant. I spend a lot of time painting, photographing, traveling, and diving or surfing the ocean. Perspective within nature and the city constantly give inspiration to experiment with colors and brush strokes. She began selling paintings in Maine, then also after while living in Costa Rica. She later came back to the United States to focus more on learning technique and style. She now reside in Hampton Falls, painting by the coast and continuously learning . Her focus is a hyper realistic approach to color and detail.
Martha Levesque: Martha was born in Quebec and raised in Lewiston. The artist has become a master of Fantasy Pours. She finds that medium exciting to work with and quite challenging. If you would like to know more about the work she does, you will have the opportunity to ask her during the Open House on Saturday, June 23. Martha is also a skilled master in Pergamano.
Pergamano is the art of embellishing and decorating parchment paper through the use of techniques such as embossing, perforating, stippling, outlining and color enhancing. This art began in the 18th Century. Martha became a certified instructor in 1999 and taught at the Villages in Florida and now she brings this wonderful art here to Maine. Come and enjoy viewing samples of this very unique art.
Martha's studio is located in Litchfield, Maine.
Anita F. Poulin: Poulin, is Franco-American and comes from 4 generations of self taught artists and has been painting for over 45 years and teaching art locally for the past 35 years in her home studio as well as workshops in Auburn, Oxford and Lewiston Schools, Schooner Estates, the University of Maine Senior College, Hobby Lobby. The artist beautifully captures Maine's four season landscapes and seascapes in acrylic and pastel medium . Her wildflower paintings are delightful in simplicity yet intricate in detail. Her adult, children and pet portraits are amazingly life-like capturing each individual personality.
The GreenWood Gallery is owned by the artist and is an affiliate of AP Graphics & Fine Arts of Auburn. “It has always been my dream to open an art gallery, and when I acquired this great space, I knew the time was right,” says Anita F Poulin, owner of the galley. "We have some amazing artists in this area who deserve to have their art exhibited. My goal is to promote the art of my fellow artists as well as my art. GreenWood Gallery's goal is to be a stepping stone for Maine artists who wish to continue developing their professional artistic career."
This year we are proud to introduce musician Victor Montez who will join the celebration with his guitar serenades.
Victor Montez Jr. hails from San Antonio, Texas.
He comes from a family full of incredible musicians and spent his entire childhood watching and learning from them. Ultimately deciding guitar was his voice.
