Join the LA Metro Chamber and speakers John Ferland of Hahnel Bros Co and Bill Grant of Auburn and Lewiston Adult Education Programs as they overview the hiring challenges facing employers, and the creative, collaborative solutions stemming from public-private partnerships.
Highlighting the Construction Institute and Strengthen LA- the scaled approach it led to, his presentation will cover the aspects of recruitment, curriculum development, earn-while-you-learn strategies, and more.

John A Ferland, Vice President & General Manager
John A Ferland began his career at Hahnel Bros. Co. in 1993 as a laborer. In 1996 he was promoted to Foreman. In 2000 he went on to become an Estimator & Project Manager. In 2007 he was promoted to Roofing Department Manager and most recently in 2016 became the Vice President and General Manager. In addition to his nearly three decades of training in the roofing and wall panel trade, he is also a Veteran of the US Air Force having served over 26 years in the Maine Air National Guard retiring in 2018. Bill Grant, Adult Education Director in the Cities of Lewiston and Auburn
Bill Grant began his career in education in 2002 working as a teacher with Lewiston Regional Technical Center. While an active faculty member, Bill added to his teaching duties coaching athletics and working in the evenings for adult education. In 2006 Bill was given the opportunity to be the Assistant Director of Lewiston Adult Education. In this capacity, he helped to implement workforce programming and worked closely implementing what is now the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. In 2013, he became the Director of Auburn Adult & Community Education, where he spent three years building academic, workforce and enrichment programs. In February of 2016, Bill became the Director of both Lewiston and Auburn's Adult Education programs with a focus on enhancing the services Adult Education offers to our L/A Community.

Please note that this is a Virtual Breakfast and only those who completed their registration for the virtual attendance by June 3rd will receive their "breakfast bags" by mail if out of the Auburn Lewiston area and anyone who registers after June 4th will need to pick up their bags here at the LA Metro Chamber on June 8th or 9th.
